Onteora Superintendent of Schools Hal Rowe is gearing up to
present his proposals for elementary school reorganization
at the next school board meeting, postponed because of snow
and tentatively rescheduled for Monday, March 3, at 7 p.m.
Because a large audience is expected, the meeting will take
place at the high school, not at Phoenicia Elementary School,

Republican county legislators voted overwhelmingly on Thursday,
February 13, to table a motion to reconsider the previous approval
of a controversial lease agreement for a new county highway
and auto repair facility in West Hurley that would more than
double the cost from the current facilities. In doing so, any
discussion on the floor of the legislature of the pros and cons
of the issue were procedurally squashed.
