in 1993, regular renewal of that FAD – along with the threat
of the feds forcing New York to pay the billions of dollars necessary
to build a state-of-the-art filtration system – has become

Resort project?
The gag order thrown over negotiations bring brokered by federal
EPA Regional Administrator Alan Steinberg, New York City Department
of Environmental Protection officials overseeing the Catskills
watershed, and representatives of Governor Eliot Spitzer since
last fall is still in effect. But word started leaking out that
a compromise may be offered sometimes soon.

$20.5 million goal, but the Catskill Watershed Corporation
was expected to give the non-profit enterprise a one
million dollar boost this past week.

Vietnam’s
Legacy...

Thomas Dean Walley, a longtime Pine Hill resident,
was a decorated member of the United States Army
who served in Vietnam.
During his time in that war torn country between
1971 and 1974 he received the national Defense
Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic
of Vietnam Campaign Medal, an Air Medal, a Sharpshooter
Badge and the Bronze Star.
