sparks on Monday when the light agenda was filled out by legal
arguments over a local farm stand, accusations of illegal
town meetings and questions about the town requesting a $15,000
check from Crossroads Ventures.

the deadline New York City gave last year for the hamlet
to make a final leap for the $17 million sewer system lure
they’ve been dangling out to the community, like all
Catskills municipalities, in recent years… a proposal
the community of 280 or so homes narrowly turned down via
a system-wide referendum vote in February, 2007.

Newly elected Onteora district school board
members, Donna Flayhan, Ralph Legnini, Ann McGillicuddy
and Laurie Osmond are gearing up for immediate
changes as promised during their campaign, while
tackling all July business that comes with it.
In the mean time, they are meeting with previous
school board members and will attend a school
board orientation June 7 in Newburgh.

Kayak and Canoe Club of New York will host its 42nd
annual kayak and slalom races on the Esopus Creek
the weekeknd of June 7 & 8. Racing will start
at noon on Saturday and 10am on Sunday. The starting
line will be at the Woodland Valley Bridge, off
Route 28, just north of Phoenicia.
